Getting involved - become part of the Canolfan story

The Canolfan is a not-for-profit Social Enterprise Business - our objective is to improve our community here in Beaumaris and the Seiriol area, to help our local residents well-being and to encourage the use of the Canolfan by local people and by the many year round visitors that come to this beautiful part of Anglesey.

As a registered charity, all monies we make are reinvested to provide Sports, Leisure, Entertainment and Wellbeing services and to maintain and develop the Canolfan as our Leisure Centre for this and our future generations.

Since 2013 your directors, staff and volunteers have worked hard to establish the Canolfan as one of the focal points of Beaumaris and a big part of the success story is the generous contributions of support from both businesses and individuals from across the Seiriol area. Bonus Ball

Join our Bonus Ball Subscribers Club and try for a prize every week

Participants pay £5 per month by standing order into the bonus ball fund and are allocated a number from 1-49. Choosing to subscribe at £10 gives you two allocated numbers.

Each week a prize of £25.00 is awarded to the people whose number matches the bonus ball drawn in that week's Saturday National Lotto draw. The Winners are notified of their win by the Friends and receives their prize in the form of a cheque at the end of the month.

The Bonus Ball is a great way to help the Canolfan. The group of Canolfan Friends that manage the scheme collect the money surplus to the weekly prizes and discuss with the Directors as appropriate to decide if the money becomes available to the general running costs or if it is held to match fund grant applications or individual projects.

We are limiting the entries at this time to 100 x £5 subscribers and 40 x £10 subscribers - when we reach this figure we will raise the prize money pro rata by each additional 30 subscribers.

Become a Friend of The Canolfan

We are tremendously grateful for all your donations - literally every penny counts!

When you donate to the Canolfan you are directly contributing to our ability to maintain the Leisure Centre for Beaumaris, its local community and as an attraction to the year round visitors to our Town.

We have three levels of donation. These are one-off annual donations and are based on the levels of contribution our “Friends” have been making over the years. This support enables us to demonstrate the local support of the project and is invaluable when applying for grant aid.

Volunteer For The Canolfan

Come and get involved in the life of the Canolfan, join our family of volunteers

Each year we face the challenge of finding the money to cover our running costs. That’s why the work done by our highly motivated team of more than 40 volunteers is so vital to us.

Volunteers do many different and important jobs for us; and they bring a wide range of skills and experience to their work. Whether it's helping with administration, events or exhibitions, helping with fundraising, collecting donations or one of the many other roles, volunteers form a vital part of the Canolfan team.

It’s also a chance to meet new friends and be part of the life of the Canolfan, be it on an occasional basis or a regular time commitment. We’d love to hear from you.

Leave us a gift in your will

Legacy donations are so important - we’ll help you through the will-making process

Surprisingly, research (Opinion 2015) showed that around 58% of people in the UK have not made a Will. Naturally, when making your Will you'll want to make sure that those close to you come first, but remembering the Canolfan alongside your family and friends will mean that we all continue to build a worthwhile facility for our community; we will be building a Legacy “thank you” wall where your name will be seen as a Legacy contributor by future generations.

Your charitable donation is tax allowable and we have excellent plans to help publicise your business

We ask local businesses to make a charitable donation of £250.00 each year which is of course tax allowable as you are contributing to our Registered Charity (No. 1154384).

You can help sustain the Canolfan here in Beaumaris and we in turn have plans to use our growing database, and develop through our Volunteers, a network for direct marketing and promotion which will of course feature our business friends.
